The Full Story
The Viking Ship Museum
Imagine stepping into the Viking Age—not as a passive observer, but as an active participant. This was the vision that fueled our project at the Viking Ship Museum: to transform traditional museum visits into immersive, interactive experiences through digital innovation.

Play and Learn app
Leveraging Research through Design (RtD) and Learning through Play, we developed VikiMaps, an app that merges storytelling, technology, and education. Through QR codes scattered across the museum, visitors embark on a digital treasure hunt, guided by animated Vikings who bring history to life. Each stop reveals a new challenge—finding iron for a blacksmith, choosing the right sail for a ship, or deciphering ancient runes—all while subtly teaching the craftsmanship and navigation skills that defined Viking society.
Infomercials
Iteration after iteration, we refined our design using speculative design, design sprints, and user testing. We engaged museum experts and visitors to validate our approach, ensuring that our prototype was intuitive and engaging. The feedback was clear: the blend of historical storytelling and interactive technology made learning feel like an adventure rather than a lesson. Hereby, infomercials was created.
